Trader Joe's Garlic & Cheese Bread Sticks Review

Trader Joe's Garlic & Cheese Bread Sticks in package

Hellooooooo, carb lovers!

Maybe we spent too much time at the Olive Garden as teenagers, but we cannot resist a breadstick. (Do you call them breadsticks or bread sticks? Trader Joe's uses two words.)

You'll find Trader Joe's Garlic & Cheese Bread Sticks in the store's fresh bread/bakery section. They're not frozen or refrigerated but come in a vacuum-sealed package. They cost $3.99.

I actually served these at a dinner party BEFORE trying them. I knew I'd have my hands full with the entree and side dish, but I still wanted to serve bread. The short bake/warm time on these convinced me they'd be worth the risk of not trying first! (So brave!)

Trader Joe's Garlic & Cheese Bread Sticks, baking instructions

Each package contains 8 breadsticks, which are pre-baked and must be baked/warmed before serving. We found the 3 to 5 minutes suggested to be perfect for heating, whether we baked them on a cookie sheet or placed them directly on the oven racks.

She says (Bridget): SO GOOD when warm from the oven! The cheese on the outside of the breadsticks crisps up, making these hard to resist scarfing down. Outside, they are super flavorful with a combination of cheese and seasonings. The interior is soft and fluffy. Once cooled, they're a little less spectacular. I wish the cheese and seasonings had been kneaded into the dough as well. Overall, they're handy to heat up quickly when you're busy with other cooking/meal prep.
Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

He says (Mark): Easy, cheesy! The flavor, especially right out of the oven, was well-balanced, with just the right amount of cheese on top. By the way, if you have leftovers, reheat the day after in a 350 oven for about 3-4 minutes (just on the rack, no baking sheet needed). The size is just right. I like how I can prop one up on the side of a wide salad bowl. This is a winner, whether solo or with dinner.
Overall rating: 4 out of 5 stars

You could serve these alongside other Trader Joe's offerings like Chicken Meatballs, gnocchi, or vegan pepperoni

We tried these once, they were just ok because they had cooled down. I guess we should have read your review and suggestion about only eating them heated.
