These little pink cakes caught my eye immediately in the store's bakery section. Of course, any pink confection around Valentine's Day piques my interest. How would they taste?
Sweet and simple with a smooth pink coating and a single frosting leaf on each, Trader Joe's Raspberry Mousse Cakes are definitely petit four-ish in style. Very, very cute.

A box of six Raspberry Mousse Cakes costs $3.49. Per the package, a serving size is three cakes. (I like that.) They also include the nutrition info if you accidentally polish off the entire container.
Each cake is comprised of a cake layer, raspberry mousse, and is covered in a smooth icing.

He (Mark) says: These are a must-get! Perfect icing, perfect mousse layer, and the raspberry flavor is excellent. They're dainty, so a serving size in my book might need to be two whole packages. These are hard to eat slowly but totally worth it if you do; you get to take in the layers and savor the flavor even more. A winner.

She (Bridget) says: Well exceeded my expectations! About 2/3rds of the dessert is a moist cake, and it's topped with a light and beautiful raspberry mousse frosting. The entire confection is wrapped in a pink confectionery coating...which is surprisingly delicious. More delicious than "confectionary coating" sounds. Great mouthfeel. Add these to any bridal or baby shower dessert table, and they'll garner oohs and ahhs, for sure. I wouldn't be disappointed to get these instead of chocolates for Valentine's Day.
