Now, this is a product I never would have reached for on my own. When I was in North Carolina recently, my aunt alerted me to the Trader Joe's Shampoo Bar. She'd read an article about the benefits of shampoo bars (hello, less plastic waste) and picked this one up at TJ's.

Trader Joe's Shampoo Bar costs $3.99. It's a 4-ounce bar made for men and women. The box has a mermaid on one side and a sailor (?) on the other. Super cute packaging...look at that little TJ's tattoo on the guy! The shampoo bar is labeled as paraben-free, sulfate-free, and color-safe.
Because I wasn't sure if I could give a fair review given my unruly, thick, curly hair (I thought the bar might get lost in there), we're leaving this review to Mark. I did, however, review Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Conditioner. I will say - this shampoo bar smells AMAZING. Made with peppermint and tea tree oils, the scent is instantly calming and makes your shower smell like a spa.

Review (Mark): This is great! Once your hair is wet, it only takes a few passes to work up a thick, creamy, refreshing lather. Before this cool new product from Trader Joe’s, I only used bar soap in emergencies when running out of liquid shampoo. It is not heavily scented, so it won’t interfere with any men’s aftershave or cologne. And tossing less plastic into the consumer waste stream is a nice bonus. It’s a great gift idea, too! The lather was so thick that it made me think to try it as a backup to shaving cream. And I did. It worked great, unlike regular bar soap. They have a 2-in-1 product and don't even know it yet.

Would we buy it again? Yes! It would be great for travel, too! One less 3-ounce liquid to pack!
